ABOUT THE ROLE:
• Maintain stock holdings at a level that is adequate to meet customers’ regular demands and known future variations
• Monitor slow moving and obsolete stock holdings, and take corrective action to minimise loss due to stock write-down, and prevent recurrence
• Meet or exceed agreed targets for stock turnover to optimise the investments in inventory holding
• Assist with the preparation, running and finalisation of the branch stocktakes
• Maintain high inventory levels target A 99% B 98% C 97%
• Facilitate effective communication between sales and customer service teams
• Attend Branch Supply Meetings
• Review controls for reclassed products
• Respond to queries from suppliers & branches
• Combine POs with same suppliers
• Maintain all agreed documentation in an up-to-date accurate and efficient manner
• Other duties as specified by your manager
Requirements:
• At least 3 to 5 years of local & overseas purchasing experience in a medium to large distribution company with exposure to ERP systems
• Knowledge of the market in which the representative is operating
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage in professional communication skills both written and verbal
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Great time management skills with the ability to prioritise and resolve competing demands to meet deadlines
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
