Where the team fits in
REA is evolving how it leverages data and technology to deliver benefits for customers. After the acquisition of PropTrack in May 2018, and following large growth in recent years, we are now looking for an experienced Senior Technical Lead to lead the build of a property data universe.
PropTrack provides property data and technical platform solutions to customers in the financial and government sectors. The Engineering Team within PropTrack works together to deliver solutions to our internal and external customers. It is the core delivery centre for developing solutions to meet customer priorities and align with PropTrack's technology strategy.
What the role is all about
As the Senior Technical Lead (Data Engineering), you will be responsible for the architecture, design, build and run of the PropTrack property data universe and related systems. In collaboration with other technical leaders across the business you will lead the engineering for the property data portfolio. You will combine your extensive data management experience with your understanding of the business to guide your teams through all aspects of delivering a world-class data platform. While the focus of this role is on data architecture and leadership, you will remain hands on and work with the engineering squads to develop solutions using agile software development practices as required. You will champion our technical practices to ensure a high-quality outcome for our business. You will share responsibility for the provisioning, deployment and operational support of the software the engineering team build.
You will join the PropTrack engineering leadership team and will be jointly accountable for the health, happiness and performance of the squads. You will contribute positively to the culture of the team, build engagement and morale, be involved in recruiting, set structure and processes and generally help build and maintain a high performing team(s). You will also use your skills and experience to mentor more junior team members.
