Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you. 

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

About the team

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is the group that brings both business knowledge and financials together to ensure that all stakeholders, internal and external, today and in the future, fully understand the drivers of revenue and cost across Canva.

This new role, a Commercial Analyst as part of our Field FP&A team, helps decipher business needs and decisions into tangible financial outcomes and helps translate Canva/Finance goals into deliverables that the business must achieve. Ensuring Gross Margin and other key financial metrics are accurately budgeted, forecasted and explained + narratives for management and investors along with guiding Cloud costs.

What you'll do

  • Own the annual budgeting of AWS, GCP, OpenAI & emerging tech across Canva and its entities
  • Improve visibility on Canva's key commercial outcomes through scenario modelling and analysis
  • Operate and improve the key cost savings tool that is used by Engineers across Canva to highlight cost savings and opportunities
  • Be part of one of the very few Cloud FinOps teams in ANZ, dedicated to improving cloud spend value and efficiency
  • Working with the Cloud FinOps team to work with teams across Canva to highlight spend inefficiencies and work with SMEs internally and vendor SME's to present solutions

About you

  • CA Qualified or Equivalent, financial analysis, FP&A skills within a technology environment, preferably with experience of interacting with stakeholders within the Cloud space
  • Able to develop strong relationships with non-Finance stakeholders - engineers, product managers, technical program managers etc
  • Have dealt with ambiguity and fast-paced change as new products are introduced and new technologies and vendors are used
  • Able to be curious about how lessons from one vendor, one team, one project can be applied to other relevant parts of Canva to magnify financial and knowledge impact
