The Senior UX Researcher is a member of the Design team which partners with Product and Engineering teams across the business to create amazing products and experiences for our consumers and customers. What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll be responsible for understanding user needs and uncovering deep insights that help bring amazing products to life that find product/market fit, growing our business and delighting our consumers and customers. To do this you'll be leveraging your extensive experience in research, user-centered design and service thinking, applying insights to work towards the strategy and vision for a product, feature or experience utilising our design system, design principles and playbooks.
As a Senior UX Researcher, you will be tasked with leading discovering and validating REA user experiences. These research insights will inform our product management and design process and be core to delivering to REA industry-leading property experiences. Day to day you'll be working with cross-functional partners in Product Design, Product Management, Engineering and Strategy collaborating to deliver products to market fast, monitoring their performance and iterating on them. You'll constantly raise the bar of our experiences and how you work, bringing together stakeholders to align around our consumer and customer needs, advocating for new ideas of products and features that deliver on our strategy.
This role is about raising the bar using your craft, mentoring others and help creating amazing products and experiences.
A few things you’ll be doing day to day:
Work collaboratively with Head of Product, Product Managers, Designers, Developers, UX Researchers, Data scientists, Marketing team and various other stakeholders to help shape and ship new products and features.
Lead research strategies to plans, formulate, and undertake user research to discover problems, define solutions and validate concepts and prototypes with our consumers.
Design and facilitate workshops, user research activities, stakeholder interviews and research critique sessions.
Extensive experience leading lab-based user research, remote testing, a range of fidelity prototype testing, concept testing, contextual inquiry, survey design, competitive and comparative analysis, and other research methods. Applied research and testing on a variety of devices (desktop, mobile, tablet)
Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
A strong grasp of quantitative data analysis and statistics and experimentation as part of mixed methods approaches.
Good knowledge of inclusive design practices and accessibility.
Good understanding of the design process and product management.
Present research insights and participate in providing best practice feedback and guidance in regular research critiques to ensure consistency and quality outcomes.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of 5+ years of experience in practicing design research, with a focus on qualitative approaches using standard methods and best practice processes.
Someone with strong communication skills for impact and effective influencing
An impressive background leading design research methodology, including facilitating workshops with stakeholders and/or customers and using various ideation techniques.
Someone with a growth mindset to take on and give clear and constructive feedback.
Thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, with an entrepreneurial ownership mentality.
Someone with excellent stakeholder management skills.
