What we're doing…
The Strategy team, led by the Chief Strategy Officer, assists the REA Group and its business units to develop, define and evolve their strategies to meet the overall Group's aspiration of profitable growth. The team is also responsible for identifying and assessing potential corporate transactions for REA Group.
The Senior Strategy Manager is accountable for enhancing the organisation’s strategic leadership capability. They are expected to provide strategic thought leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on capability.
It is expected the Senior Strategy Manager will:
Lead the evolution of our strategy, including participating in the annual strategy planning cycle for the REA Board
Be a progressive thinker, exploring new business models to future-proof and position the business for 2, 3, 5 or 10 years ahead
Develop insightful market intelligence to identify key market, competitor, consumer, customer, and product trends to support strategic recommendations
Shape the digital consumer experience, with a focus on digital funnel management and conversion
Solve problems and develop rigorous, fact-based analysis including business cases, market sizing or other quantitative analytics to support recommendations, supported by others in the team
Be comfortable driving strategic projects with blended strategy and business teams and working to clear deadlines
Support the communication of recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders in a clear, concise and impactful way via powerpoint presentations
Develop strong internal relationships to facilitate an understanding of the core strategic objectives of REA Group and each of its businesses.
Be a trusted and respected member of the Strategy team and business partner to other teams across the business
We're looking for someone with…
Relevant tertiary qualifications: Commerce, Finance, Law, Engineering, Accounting or Business degree
Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset and can-do attitude
Demonstrated experience working in Strategy teams and/or in:
Management consulting (Senior Consultant / Senior Associate / Consultant level) (5- 8 years experience) and/or
In-house strategy role (5- 8 years experience)
Investment banking (5 – 8 years experience)
Demonstrated ability to deliver insightful recommendations and undertake sound strategic analysis using hypothesis-based problem solving
Excellent analytical capability with the ability to frame and solve problems and undertake qualitative and quantitate analysis (financial modelling)
Strong verbal and written communication with experience in developing presentations and/or Board papers
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, priorities effectively and meet deadlines
Learning agility and the ability to work with ambiguity
Demonstrated ability to run strategic projects and manage cross-business resources
Demonstrated ability to influence & build rapport, credibility & trust with internal stakeholders quickly
Financial services industry experience (highly regarded)
Real Estate industry experience (highly regarded)
Experience with digital conversion / funnel management (high regarded)
