Business Banking Risk plays a part in providing the first line of defence in managing all risk aspects of Bendigo & Adelaide Bank.  We support the Bank’s business channels in achieving their goals to grow a diverse customer base with lending in line with the Bank’s objectives and Risk Appetite Statement. 

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Risk and Regulatory Projects, the Senior Risk Consultant acts as a strategic partner to Business Banking Leadership, Business Customer Leadership, Business Lending Products, Group Compliance, Group Risk, Credit Risk Management, Group Legal and related departments to advise and support the business deliver on a range of risk projects and related risk changes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the project and business team to understand proposed changes
  • Complete risk impact analysis to identify gaps and make appropriate recommendations
  • Understand customer impacts and opportunities coming from the new system
  • Being the risk advisor on the project with regards to all aspects of risk management and being the conduit to the broader BB Risk team
  • Early engagement around updates and improvements to the newly established control and process environment

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a Business-related field with Post Graduate Qualifications in a Business -related field desirable
  • Demonstrated banking experience, ideally in Business Banking segments
  • Extensive understanding of risk concepts including collateral management and risk grading.
  • Ability to understand risk & compliance related documentation and legislation
  • Experience with Risk Projects and Risk Change Management
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in APRA reporting writing highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and influencing relevant stakeholders to achieve results
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, be highly organised and work to constantly benefit the organisation
