Where the Content and Growth team fits in

As a key member of our Content and Growth team, you will experience interesting and challenging work. Our team set the brand vision for our company - what our identity stands for, how we educate the property market through the right data and insights and how best to communicate the stories that matter.

This role works with our in-house news team, our economic and data analytics team, and customer teams to create outstanding property industry editorial, which grows digital content audiences across residential and commercial sites. This role is for an ambitious self-starter that has great ideas combined with the passion, strategy and ability to make them happen.

In the role of Property Journalist (Industry), we need someone that can generate ideas for editorial and data-led content that is not only on point for our brand, but is engaging and resonates with our property-savvy audience.

What the role is all about

  • Deliver compelling property industry journalism across realestate.com.au and realcommercial.com.au

  • Write editorial with a focus on policy, legislation and taxation issues impacting the housing market

  • Lead coverage on issues including housing affordability, rental market supply, and housing security

  • Profile industry leaders and key decision makers in feature editorial 

  • Lead coverage of the New Homes and Developer industries

  • Build strong relationships with key industry contacts and stakeholders both internally and externally

  • Provide engaging and timely content for weekly/monthly consumer communications

  • Collaborate with Property News Editor to sub-edit and build content from external contributors

  • Maintain a calendar to ensure issues likely to impact the property industry are anticipated

  • Curate content on-site, App, and Apple News channels

  • Upload and manage the delivery of content through our CMS

Who we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated experience in editorial content production.

  • Strong background in news/property reporting

  • Ability to interpret data to tell a compelling story for consumers

  • Demonstrated ability to write consumer-focused content that provides analysis of current market and economic conditions

  • Knowledge of best practice SEO content production 

  • Expertise in CMS (WordPress preferred)

  • Proven ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Understanding of how best to engage online audiences and use the latest technologies to drive traffic

  • Proven ability to build positive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
