We're REA

An Australian start-up success story we're quietly proud of.

From a garage in Melbourne to the global stage is an achievement we're humbled by. Our idea to put pictures of houses on the internet has blossomed since 1995, and we now have businesses across Australia, India and North America.

Our purpose is to change the way the world experiences property. No matter where you're at on your property journey, we're here to help on every step - whether that's buying, selling, renting or renovating.

Some of our brands include realestate.com.au, realcommercial.com.au, Flatmates.com.au, Proptrack.com and Mortgage Choice.

We're proud to be named in Australia's "Top 5" Best Workplaces two years in a row. This recognition is a great proof point of our unique and special culture. A culture that is driven by our people, our values, and our commitment to making a difference in the community.

What we’re doing

The Senior BA role sits within the Customer 360 tribe which is a part of the Customer Product and Experience Group. The Customer 360 tribe looks after the end-to-end customer experience spanning our customer lifecycle including onboarding, quoting, contracting, along with Sales, Marketing and Operational tooling. Customer 360 tribe is made up of many squads that look after the platform capabilities that support our customers.

You’ll be one of two BA’s working within the Salesforce squad in the Customer 360 Tribe. With the Salesforce squad, you’ll have a focus on improving and simplifying the internal user experience and being a key contributor in the future direction of how we manage our customer interactions and data. You will support our stakeholders with improving the sales pipeline process, become an SME of the various products we provide at REA to our customers, and understand the data flows between Salesforce and our other internal systems. While no two days are ever the same, you’ll be doing:

  • Understanding complex business landscapes and clearly articulating business needs from a varied group of stakeholders
  • Translating business needs into system or product requirements with clear, concise and testable user stories & process flows
  • Ensuring requirements are understood by developers from capability inception to story kick offs and constant communication throughout the development process
  • Communicating any requirement dependencies, issues or risks identified through the analysis process
  • Contributing to the team’s understanding and prioritisation during sprint planning meetings
  • Working closely with our Product Managers and Delivery Lead to ensure a consistent prioritized pipeline of sprint-ready work for our development team to deliver upon
  • Participating in estimation sessions by describing the requirements and clarifying any questions raised
  • Mentoring other team members on core BA processes and skills, and leading others where required in support of the Delivery Lead and Product Manager(s)
  • Working closely with other squads in the platform team and business to shape the direction of the complete solution architecture, and to support other squads in delivering components
  • Using your analytical skills to support the team’s activities including legacy migration activity, service delivery and system & customer production issues

Who we’re looking for

  • Extensive experience as a Business Analyst
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to run workshops and to communicate effectively with Product Managers, Developers, Leads and other stakeholders across the organisation
  • Experience using Agile and Lean methodologies
  • Experience in gathering and developing detailed functional requirements and conducting systems analysis for front and back-end applications
  • Experience working in large organisations with complex and highly varied business functions
  • Experience as a Salesforce BA will be highly beneficial, but not essential
  • Experience using Jira and Miro, or an ability to upskill on these tools quickly
  • Comfortable interrogating databases and using analytical tooling
  • Business, Commerce or Technical degree, or equivalent industry experience
  • Work productively in a fast paced and agile environment - #gsd

But we don’t just look for someone based on their skills and expertise.  It’s our connection, acceptance and genuine care for each other that makes REA a great place to work. That means you also need to be:

  • Savvy minded and have curiosity to think a little left of field / outside the box
  • A strong and creative communicator
  • Friendly, approachable and have good relationship management skills
  • An avid contributor to our inclusive culture - we celebrate different perspectives and all play an active role in creating a sense of belonging

The REA experience

The physical, mental, emotional and financial health of our people is something we’ll never stop caring about. This is a place to learn and grow. We’re committed to your development – both professionally and personally. Your experience with us is something we take seriously.

We offer:

  • A flexible working environment, meaning we strike the balance of what you need and what works for the business (and yes, our leaders fully understand the benefits of working flexibly)
  • A hybrid approach to the future of work - https://rea.to/hybrid-working
  • Generous and flexible parental leave offering for primary and secondary carers
  • Support for your mental and physical health and wellbeing via our Wellbeing Program
  • Because We Care program which includes volunteer leave and community grants, to ensure you have the opportunity to give back to your community
  • Hack Days for you to bring so you can bring your big ideas to life in a supportive learning environment
  • An additional day of leave just for your birthday

Oh, and by the way:

At REA we value diversity and inclusion in all forms. Gender, religion, ethnicity, LBTGIQ+, neurodiversity and so much more. Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you've got the must-haves, dedication and enthusiasm to learn but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
