Mission: We’re redefining support for disability and aged care in Australia by helping people who are aging or living with disability to connect with independent support people in their community.
What will you be doing?
- Work with your teammates on building upcoming features or fixing / fine turning the existing modules.
- Collaborating with Slack / Jira and other tools to Primarily working on our rails (majestic) monolith app. We separated our frontend / backend and we have a separate theme to handle our frontend user facing app and rails app works as an API for 90% of the time. While it’s nice to have frontend skills, in this role, you’ll be mostly working with the backend/API modules.
- Working closely with the squad product manager (PM) and making sure requirements are correctly converted to tickets for your team to work on Jump in to google hangout / slack etc when someone needs help and see what you can do to help them
- Bring your ideas to the current global projects we are working on. (E.g currently we refactoring our rspec test suite, we are adding code quality tools, we are now moving from REST to GraphQL etc)
- Review a PR if you have time and give constructive feedback to improve the quality of the codebase. Make a joke, have a laugh virtually (on our slack channels) or if you come to the Sydney office IRL.
Your experience:
- Good ruby/rails experience (ideally minimum 5 years experience), able to think about solutions from the architecture level and also business level.
- Love solving easy and complex problems and working your way through to finding a solution or knowing when to ask for help.
- Understanding the ruby ecosystem, testing, RSpec, clean simple code , design patterns and when to use them and when not to use them.
- Comfortable working with git / gitflow, github and understanding deployment process
- Good communication skills
- Good team player, have empathy for others and be kind.
- Experience in AWS / Docker will be an added advantage Experience in Angular will be an added advantage
