About the Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract, the HR Manager is a standalone position that ensures operational excellence in matters relating to our people. Responsible for being the HR interface for a range of people related activities, the HR Manager will build and administer people processes across the employee lifecycle.

The HR Manager will be an excellent coach to managers, providing advice and support to enhance their capability on matters relating to their people.

The HR Manager oversees recruitment activity, as the line manager of a Talent Partner who does the hiring. 

Key responsibilities

  • Leveraging our Group company systems and references: Identify and build people programs across the employee lifecycle i.e. onboarding, induction, learning and development, performance, engagement,  reward and exit
  • Build and manage end to end people and culture processes and systems across the employee lifecycle
  • Write, adapt, communicate and embed people policies across the business
  • Execute on key people operational and administrative requirements across the employee lifecycle with a focus on delivering a positive and responsive experience 
  • Guide and advise leaders on the full gamut of HR functions and coach managers in people leadership 
  • Support leaders to manage employee relations i.e. poor performance, grievances, return to work including leading investigations, preparing conversation guides and paperwork, attending meetings and putting forward recommendations of outcomes
  • Design fit for purpose people reports that support decision making 
  • Lead HR Audit and compliance requirements i.e. WGEA, Risk, WHS Prepare all employment contracts, contract variation letters, and internal documentation and maintain employee records
  • Be the ‘go to’ person for advice and information on all people-related queries. 

Your ideal background

  • As an ideal candidate, you have proven experience as an HR generalist, with the ability to operate end to end, both tactically and strategically, in a fast paced scaling organisation.5 years +  Human Resource operational experience, HR expert in operational and tactical HR processes and delivery
  • Demonstrated experience in policy, process and program design across the employee lifecycle
  • Experienced in performance management and employee relations with a pragmatic and balanced approach that brings together technical knowledge, business context and values
  • Experience with interpreting and applying a wide range of policies, awards and employment legislation 
  • Proven capabilities advising managers and staff on conduct, performance management, and grievances.
  • Strategic thinker who is able to research and build policies, programs and ideas from scratch
  • Excellence in communicating and influencing across varied stakeholder groups
  • Capacity to prioritise and deal effectively with competing demands
  • Discretion and understanding of importance of managing confidential information
  • Self-assured and able to manage stakeholders effectively
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with a get-stuff-done attitude
