Position purpose:
The People Advisor is responsible for delivering a responsive and customer focussed service to employees and leaders within their client groups.
The role will pair closely with a People Partner (HRBP) and work in close collaboration with talent team members to deliver end to end coordination across the employee lifecycle and first level advisory, as well as support the delivery of company wide people projects.
What will i be doing?
- People Advisory
- Execute on key people operational and administrative requirements throughout the entire employee lifecycle with quality and accuracy
- Own HRIS data quality and employee record management systems
- Own the end to end onboarding experience and induction to ensure new Mablers are welcomed and managers are supported to set them up for success
- Be the ‘go to’ person for managers and employees on employment contracts / awards / national employment standard interpretation, as well as internal policy and process queries and ‘how-to’ guidance across operations and programs
- Support managers on low risk employee relations i.e. performance in probation, interpersonal conflict
- Support HRBPs in grievances and investigations by preparing paperwork and attending meetings
- Deliver and manage WHS processes including return to work plans, incident reporting and workplace risk
- Lead HR Audit and compliance to ISO requirements and be a risk champion for the People team.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and develop letters, processes and templates needed across the employee life cycle
- Research and draft market-leading people policies that go above and beyond legislative requirements and manage their ongoing governance
- Deliver key people data and reports to inform decision making and iterate to meet changing business needsIdentify system, process and program improvements to build foundations
- Contribute to generating solutions and lead implementation working directly with stakeholders.
Programs
- Work within a cross-functional team to support the development of new programs and improvement of existing programs
- Contribute to developing internal communications and materials to support launch
- Deliver operational requirements of people programs and cyclical events
- Support implementation and adoption of programs and create processes to operationalise programs.
What are we looking for?
- 2-3 years Human Resource operational experience including liaising with managers to provide advice directly across the employee lifecycle
- Proven ability to interpret and apply policies, awards and employment legislation independently, with experience in advising managers on conduct and performance in a way that meets employer obligations
- Has done HR process design and documentation and had exposure to program design across parts of the employee lifecycle
- Demonstrated experience working with people technologies such as HRIS, survey tools, data analysis tools
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail: focussed on delivering accurate data and information, intermediate Excel user (comfortable with large data sets, vlookups, formulas and pivot tables)
- Ability to work at pace in ambiguous environments, often juggling multiple tasks
- Execution oriented, with good instincts for anticipating needs and changes
- Collaborates with people at all levels and across functions and cultures
- Sound judgement and are able to meet challenges with a sense of calm and confidence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
