About the Division 

Finance provides the core financial information and models to support performance measurement, target setting and understanding drivers of financial outcomes.

The Financial Performance team supports BEN with delivering analysis, insights and advice to leadership to drive business outcomes including monthly reporting annual budget setting, decision support and peer benchmarking analysis.

About the role

The Senior Manager – Business Financial Performance is responsible for leading a team of finance specialists in the provision of performance reporting and analysis for the Bank, including board, divisional and business unit performance reporting. This role specifically supports our Business and Agribusiness Division and is an exciting opportunity to support energised business stakeholders.

The Business Financial Performance team is responsible for:

• scrutinise the financial results of the business (P&L and Balance Sheet)
• analysis of performance of lending and deposit products and underlying drivers
• support and challenge business decision-making with relevance to financial performance
• use digital reporting to support value add conversations with business to ensure we are meeting Budgets that are set
• bring an SME attitude to the business line being supported and understand the key drivers for performance and utilise operational knowledge to commercially drive outcomes
• proactively support the business leaders with forecasting on emerging trends and strategies to manage head wins and leverage tail winds
• influence business performance and strategies including Return on Equity, Profit After Capital Contribution and Cost to Income ratio
• budget and forecast setting for the line of business

About you 

It’s an opportunity to leverage and build on your current experience to develop a career within the Bank. To succeed in this role, you will need the following

• Professional accounting qualifications (CA/CPA/CFA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in comparable environment (banking experience required)
• Strong knowledge of management reporting and performance concepts including an understanding of return on equity, profit after capital charge and levers of driving Cost to Income
• Understanding and demonstrated capability on drivers of performance for lending and deposits products
• High level of computer, analytical, numerical and reporting skills.
• Team player with previous experience in team management and development, as well as responsibility for maintaining customer relationships with senior management
• Detailed understanding and experience of Banking and Finance practices including:
  • Retail and Business Banking concepts and business models
  • Budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Management Accounting & Reporting
  • Business analytics and data interrogation techniques
