About the role

We are transforming, moving to a cloud first model, modernising and simplifying and you can be part of that!  

Based in our lending team you will deliver a range of project and BAU work for the rural banking arm of our business. You will be involved in enhancing and monitoring our rural banking systems and internal applications. You’ll get to use your agile skills and knowledge to enable your team to improve their ways of working and make a real impact on how we deliver to the business. This is an awesome role as this team has a great working relationship with business stakeholders.

You will get the opportunity to work with the newest technologies, mentor others whilst also having access to learning and development platforms plus the opportunity to get certified in cloud technologies.

In this role you’ll get to:

• Coding, testing and test automation, deployment and operational monitoring.
• Refine requirements and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Support and mentor other in your team to enable them to develop technically.
• Actively engage in the development community to adapt new skills and share knowledge with peers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design products that are resilient, high-available and fit the technology roadmap.
• Uplift the agile ways of working in the team.
• Contribute to team planning, present work completed at showcase and provide continuous feedback to your team and peers.
• Participate in the 24x7 on-call roster as part of Incident Management (you will be compensated with an additional on-call allowance and time in lieu).

About you

• Experience with Java, J2EE, Hibernate, Spring, JavaScript, Tomcat, SQL desirable
• The ability and passion to mentor team members technically. Experience producing designs and developing APIs/Microservices and web applications using Java, proof of concept and presenting in technical forums.
• Comfortable leading engineering good practices in an agile environment, promoting iteration, peer reviewing and knowledge sharing sessions.
