Where Mortgage Choice fits in…

In July 2021, Mortgage Choice entered a new era after being acquired by REA Group. REA is creating a leading mortgage broking business at scale that will support more Australians with their home ownership aspirations. This is an exciting time of growth for Mortgage Choice, but something that remains the same is that our qualified mortgage brokers continue to provide first class customer service and advice to help our customers take control of their finances.

What we’re doing

Working under the Mortgage Choice brand as our Home Loan Specialist you will help us look after our new and existing customers throughout all phases of their home loan life cycle to find them the right home loan option. You will possess a strong sales acumen to convert leads and referrals to residential loan applications. During the home loan process, you will provide an exceptional customer experience while you navigate through the journey. While no two days are ever the same, you will be doing the following:

  • Provide exceptional customer service in a timely and accurate measure and responding to the needs of customers throughout all stages of the lending cycle

  • Reach expected settlement targets while ensuring you have a high customer feedback rating

  • Seek out additional product sales opportunities from clients eg. asset finance, personal finance, commercial lending and general insurance referral opportunities for business partners

  • Keep up to date with all administration needs eg. written documentation to be consistent with Mortgage Choice standards and industry compliance, and ensuring lender application forms and associated documentary evidence is accurately correlated

  • Follow the Franchise Operations System (FOS) as detailed in the Mortgage Choice Operations Manual, and as presented in the Mortgage Choice Information Center online, particularly in regards to responsible lending obligations and privacy obligations

  • Ensure upkeep of continuous development including but not limited to attending Lender accreditation sessions, maintaining industry CPD point score and ensuring accurate up to date knowledge of lenders products, policies and service levels

  • You’ll use your excellent problem-solving skills and product knowledge to answer customer queries and maintain and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Who we’re looking for…

You are someone who has a great professional presentation and is an excellent communicator. You will display a strong attention to detail and love to work in a fast-paced environment. In addition:

  • You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills in order to convey terms in a clear and concise manner

  • Experience of Home Lending / Mortgage or Credit products is essential with a minimum 3 years of current home loan lending experience with a bank or mortgage broker in a sales based environment

  • Proven track record in achieving sales results and business development skills

  • Confident to conduct home loan health checks

  • You will be confident to conduct calls to existing or new customers and be comfortable in cold-calling marketing activities that we may attend from time to time

  • Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking/Either MFAA or FBAA current accreditation would be an advantage

  • Be thorough, precise and take pride in all aspects of your role

  • Able to adapt to and learn changes in technology and our processes

  • Whilst there is no weekend work, we ask for flexibility should a customer seek an after-hours call

But we don’t just look for someone based on their skills and expertise.  It’s our connection, acceptance and genuine care for each other that makes REA a great place to work. That means you also need to be:

  • Savvy minded and have curiosity to think a little left of field / outside the box

  • A strong and creative communicator

  • Friendly, approachable and have good relationship management skills

  • An avid contributor to our inclusive culture - we celebrate different perspectives and all play an active role in creating a sense of belonging

Oh, and by the way:

At REA we value diversity and inclusion in all forms. Gender, religion, ethnicity, LBTGIQ+, neurodiversity and so much more. Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you've got the must-haves, dedication and enthusiasm to learn but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.

If you like the sound of us, then we think you should apply today. We're proud to be Circle Back Initiative Employer and we commit to respond to every applicant.
