What we’re doing

The Financial Services team’s goal is to write 1 in 10 home loans in Australia. We will deliver this through a multi-channel home loan marketplace, supported by the #1 retail broker offering that provides full market coverage, leading rates and great service. The financial services team is accountable for strategy development and execution, working with our partners to build our capability and product offerings, leading sales management and engaging across the other lines of business in REA.

What the role is all about:

The key purpose of this role is to establish, embed and execute dedicated support plans and resources for our larger franchises and those on an accelerated growth trajectory to support Financial Services to achieve our “North Star” of fulfilling 1 in 10 home loans in Australia. The Head of Broker Growth will work closely with the GM of Distribution supporting the execution of the Distribution strategy.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and support the execution of dedicated support plans and resources for our larger franchises and those on an accelerated growth trajectory  

  • Partner with our larger franchises and those on an accelerated growth trajectory to understand their business and develop an alignment with support offering and how REA can help them achieve their goals 

  • Support the GM with Sales enablement activities covering ongoing development, competencies and capabilities of Franchisees, Loan Writers and Franchise Recruitment and State Office teams to meet Network Growth, Sales, Service and Performance standards

  • Active and regular engagement with the State Managers and Head of Franchise Recruitment to achieve national and state growth and development objectives

  • Be a trusted and respected member of the Distribution Leadership Team and a key contributor, thought leader and business partner to other teams across the business that require strategic support to explore, evaluate, recommend, and drive strategies and tactics to support the Financial Services business

  • Develop and drive strong Sales operations activity including rigorous, fact-based analysis including business cases to support recommendations

  • Support the resolution of any issues the key franchise group may face across all facets of our business 

  • Assist the GM to produce high quality presentations and documents, including monthly Board report and other ad hoc reports

  • Provide mentorship and direction for team members: building and promoting a collaborative and highly effective team culture

What we’re looking for

  • Significant experience in business development, sales distribution or sales operations roles

  • Deep subject matter expertise in mortgage business and third party (broker) banking

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with people at different levels and with contrasting levels of technical knowledge and skills

  • Understanding of local area marketing

  • Strong understanding of Mortgage Choice system

  • Exceptional influencing skills, foresight to leverage opportunities, nimble and flexible to make changes in order to minimise barriers and address unique needs and preferences of the business

  • Confident and articulate with the ability to work with a sense of urgency, energy and personal drive

  • Anticipate, prioritise and deal with issues proactively and decisively to ensure agreed timelines are met

  • Exhibit integrity, honesty and transparency to promote collaboration.

  • Someone with a drive for continuous improvement

  • Self -motivated, results and achievement oriented, balanced with an awareness of the longer-term implications of actions and ability to manage relationships with varied stakeholders

  • Digital or real estate industry experience highly regarded but not essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in a business discipline preferred
