Rural Bank is proudly part of the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank group, offering bespoke banking services to Australian farmers. As a specialist rural lender we assist farmers to obtain appropriate finance to grow their farming business.

We currently have a permanent opportunity in Wagga Wagga for an Agribusiness Relationship Manager (ARM) to join the large Sales Agribusiness team. Managing a key portfolio in NSW you will maintain excellent customer service delivery with existing customers, as well as prospect new business opportunities.

No two days will be the same as you develop and deliver win-win solutions to meet rural customer’s needs, visit clients on farm, educate branch-based staff to understand agribusiness specialisations, and grow your portfolio in the region.

This is a dynamic role where you will immerse yourself in the Australian agricultural industry, engaging collaboratively with a broad network of stakeholders developing deep industry connections. You can combine your outstanding relationship building skills with your love of providing bespoke banking solutions for our high value rural customers. As a high achieving commercially minded professional you’ll enjoying setting and exceeding sales targets.

Join a large collaborative team that are supportive, enthusiastic, and have significant agribusiness expertise and knowledge to share. This role will be predominately based in our Bathurst Elders/Young Elders branch for days that you are working in the office and other days you will be out on the road visiting your clients on farm (vehicle provided).

As the Agribusiness Relationship Manager you will:

  • Review and monitor progress against targets, budget, and overall business strategy
  • Meet or exceed budget expectations
  • Manage the high value customers in the Albury region
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with potential clients to achieve sales targets
  • Continue to develop and expand relationships with key decisions makers and external industry bodies
  • Ensure a high level of customer service across the region; expand relationships with major borrowers
  • Maintain close relationships with key staff including Retail Sales, Operations, and Business Partners, Community Banks and their Board Members


To be successful in the role, you'll have:

  • A relevant degree in Agricultural Science or Agribusiness
  • Business or Management qualifications (highly desirable)
  • Previous experience working in a Relationship Manager role with an agricultural focus
  • Demonstrated capabilities managing a business area/region with responsibilities for budgeting and setting targets
  • Outstanding relationship skills, building rapport and trust quickly to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, being financially savvy and negotiating with influence
  • Experience confidently delivering presentations to boards and managers
  • The ability to think strategically, set strategic goals and/or make strategic decisions
