About the role

The Head of Product Growth at Canva is a global leadership role, leading our 185+ Canvanauts in the Product Growth Supergroup.

You'll be an instrumental contributor to Canva's foundational mission, and helping Canva to become the default visual communication suite used by businesses and individuals around the globe.

You will do this through owning  two primary objectives: 
- Organisationally lead & nurture Canva’s Product Growth Supergroup - Lead and partner with an exceptional leadership team to build a highly impactful organization that can deliver across Teams, Revenue & MAU Growth.
- Strategically owning & driving our product-driven Teams Growth & Revenue success - As part of our Revenue Leadership Group, you will orchestrate the cross-cutting Canva for Teams growth strategy and roadmap, to bring Canva into every business in the world.

Background on our structure

With over 80+ teams across Canva, many of which are globally distributed teams in Sydney, Manila, Beijing and the USA, we’ve organized our Teams and Groups of teams into what Canva terms "Supergroups" to help us achieve our goals. Each Supergroup across Canva effectively operates as a highly-enabled, self-contained startup that owns parts of our overall strategy, which ultimately map back to our foundational mission pillars. While nimble and empowered, these groups plug into the broader Canva organization through close collaboration with other supergroups to supercharge every detail of our customer experience.

About the Supergroup you'll lead

The extraordinary growth Canva has experienced to date has been primarily bottom-up and led from within our product, and the Product Growth ‘supergroup’ is Canva’s center of excellence for product-led growth. 

On a mission to Empower the world to enjoy the full value of Canva, this cross-functional, global org of 185+ passionate people, is made up of four groups: User Growth; Teams Growth, Subscriptions Growth, and Revenue Platform. 

The work Product Growth does spans from building exciting new growth-focused products & experiences, developing unique and creative growth loops and GTM tactics, launching 100s of experiments each quarter, through to building the global payments & subscriptions infrastructure that allows our 85M+ monthly users worldwide to access our premium products. 

The goals that this organization owns play a central role in our overall company mission and business success. This Supergroup is responsible for a number of critical company metrics, which include signup, onboarding, activation, engagement, frequency of use, retention, collaboration, and monetization - right across our Free and Pro subscription products, globally.

What you'll do

  • You will directly own and drive Canva’s company-wide product-led Teams’ growth strategy & goals, which is a core pillar of Canva’s overall Revenue strategy.
  • Build high-impact strategies, roadmaps, and growth teams to drive continuous improvement at every step of the Teams journey.
  •  You will be accountable for Canva’s core product-driven Teams growth metrics & revenue results with the goal of maximizing organic team creation and expansion, playing a critical role in supporting Canva to achieve our annual revenue goals.

  • You will take on the leadership of our 185-person, exceptionally dedicated Product Growth Supergroup, fostering a holistic growth engine and rallying teams across four core groups to effectively deliver on their Monthly Active Users (MAUs), Teams growth, and self-serve Revenue goals.
  • Coach, mentor & nurture our leaders across each of the four core groups, supporting & challenging them to build groundbreaking strategies & roadmaps, and ultimately guiding their teams to deliver against them.
  • You will hire exceptional cross-functional leaders and build an impactful supergroup and teams.
  • Influence effectively across the organization by partnering with senior leadership across Sales, Marketing, Product and numerous other Supergroups and Specialties at Canva to multiply your team's impact through others.

About you

  • Values-led Product Growth Leader - You have multiple years leading large-scale Product Growth teams & orgs on a global scale. You have deep expertise coaching leaders of others, with examples that speak to your ability to build trust, inspire inclusion, and nurture high-impact growth talent & cross-functional teams.
  • Domain expertise in Collaborative SaaS & GTM (Preferred) - You are passionate about the value of collaboration SaaS and can apply this to create growth in a hybrid GTM environment, where product-led growth and Sales partner closely on goals and key results.
  • Track record of impact - You are deeply focused on impact & goals, and you have built a track record of evidence to that effect. The experiences you draw on with the most pride is through leading teams to achieve results. 
  • User Experience - You deeply understand that a phenomenal product experience drives growth & revenue through engagement, expansion & retention. You have well-founded opinions around the quality of the product & form deep relationships with core Product teams to bring them to life.
  • Analytical & data-driven - You have excellent data analysis skills. You love to dive into the numbers to interrogate a growth engine's performance and identify high-leverage opportunities.
  • Creative, first-principles builder - You will have repeatedly built new growth & monetization drivers creatively & from first principles throughout your career.
  • Operational Excellence - You build repeatable systems, processes & playbooks that set a high bar for quality and propel delivery, impact & accountability at scale.
  • Hands-on Operator - You are creative with solutions and like to keep things moving forward, at any stage. You are motivated by the granular details as much as the big picture, and you are most engaged when you are rallying teams to build solutions for big opportunities.
