Job Description

We're REA

An Australian start-up success story we're quietly proud of.

From a garage in Melbourne to the global stage is an achievement we're humbled by. Our idea to put pictures of houses on the internet has blossomed since 1995, and we now have businesses across Australia, India and North America.

Our purpose is to change the way the world experiences property. No matter where you're at on your property journey, we're here to help on every step - whether that's buying, selling, renting or renovating.

Some of our brands include,,,, and Mortgage Choice.

We’re proud to have been named Australia’s 4th Best Workplace for the second year running. This recognition is a great proof point of our unique and special culture. A culture that is driven by our people, our values, and our commitment to making a difference in the community.

What we’re doing

With us, you’ll experience impact. You’ll be part of our Tech Community Programs tribe which is part of Tech & Data.

The Tech Community Programs tribe is a highly specialised group of individuals, who are the best in their fields, providing a strategic “centre of excellence” guidance across core community-focused programs for everyone in Tech at REA. This includes our tech-focused diversity, equity and inclusion programs, graduate program, springboard to tech program, tech events and sponsorships and providing best-in-class onboarding and learning opportunities for our tech people.

What the role is all about and why you might be excited by this opportunity

We are looking for someone with experience as a Delivery Lead – who has led tech teams and managed tech people. Whilst this role does not have people leadership responsibilities at present, being able to tap into your experiences in the past is important in this role

You will use your experience to assist the Delivery of our programs of work across all Tech Teams at REA ensuring we manage and schedule our stakeholder engagement in the right way, at the right time. You will elevate our project management and change management capabilities as REA grows leveraging key relationships across Tech and People and Culture.

Given we are a small team, you will get to wear many hats, from supporting our delivery rituals to running working groups of people from across the org. Understanding how the organisation is structured so that we can make the greatest impact with the smallest effort, along with embedding a great change management approach and even some event management – you will get to do it all!

What you will get in this role that is different to other Delivery Lead roles; to develop in strategic competencies with exposure to strategic planning, product management and senior leaders.

Along with these responsibilities, you will own our #tech-community-help channel,

  • Driving the strategy for this, working closely with the Tech Community Programs leadership team and communications partner
  • Coordinating the marketing and branding
  • Communicating with the broader business about how the support channel is working, and gathering their feedback to help shape future changes
  • Analyse data to understand demand, resource management and service quality

Who we’re looking for

  • A background in Analysis or Development
  • A love for and experience in agile software delivery and change management
  • Passion for people, technology and making an org wide impact
  • Advanced written, verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity – an ability to tinker with technology and keep learning
  • Someone who can adapt and thrive in an evolving tech-led environment
  • Someone who is organised and loves collaborating, with the ability to consult with and influence multiple stakeholders
  • Developed leadership, coordination, facilitation, motivational, negotiation and dispute resolution skills

 Skills we are looking for

  • Change management
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Project scoping and planning
  • Managing project kick-offs, sprints, scoping, reporting, prioritisation, stakeholder management, risk and issues management and timeline/road mapping
  • Designing and managing effective delivery, rituals/processes and applying effective tooling

But we don’t just look for someone based on their skills and expertise.  It’s our connection, acceptance and genuine care for each other that makes REA a great place to work. That means you also need to be:

  • Savvy minded and have curiosity to think a little left of field / outside the box
  • A strong and creative communicator
  • Friendly, approachable and have good relationship management skills
  • An avid contributor to our inclusive culture - we celebrate different perspectives and all play an active role in creating a sense of belonging

The REA experience

The physical, mental, emotional and financial health of our people is something we’ll never stop caring about. This is a place to learn and grow. We’re committed to your development – both professionally and personally. Your experience with us is something we take seriously.

We offer:

  • A flexible working environment, meaning we strike the balance of what you need and what works for the business (and yes, our leaders fully understand the benefits of working flexibly)
  • A hybrid approach to the future of work -
  • Generous and flexible parental leave offering for primary and secondary carers
  • Summer Fridays – time back to focus on your wellness every Friday afternoon from December through to March
  • Support for your mental and physical health and wellbeing via our ‘You Matter’ Program
  • Because We Care program which includes volunteer leave and community grants, to ensure you have the opportunity to give back to your community
  • Hack Days for you to bring so you can bring your big ideas to life in a supportive learning environment
  • An additional day of leave just for your birthday

Oh, and by the way:

At REA we value diversity and inclusion in all forms. Gender, religion, ethnicity, LBTGIQ+, neurodiversity and so much more. Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you've got the must-haves, dedication and enthusiasm to learn but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
