Within the People & Culture Division our Change and Organisation Design team is strengthening our in-house organisation design capability to support our transformation program. The Organisation Design Specialist is a new permanent role reporting into the Head of Change & Organisation Design. The role will support significant organisation design activities and the introduction of new ways of working.

You will partner with Leaders, and the Change & Organisation design team to enable how we work into the future in support of implementing new tools and capabilities for our people with a focus on how change is designed, delivered, and embedded across the enterprise.

With a strong background in HR, either in organisational design directly or as a HR business partner with a desire to specialise in this space, you’ll bring your expertise in the analysis and development of operating structures.

This role can be based in Melbourne, Adelaide, or Bendigo for the days that you are in the office, and then other days you’ll be working from home to help better balance your life and work.


As the Organisation Design Specialist you will:


  • Develop organisation designs that align with the Bank’s business and transformation strategies
  • Act as a subject matter expert providing thought leadership to the ongoing evolution of thinking, tools, and capability in organisation design
  • Work collaboratively across People & Culture to develop integrated implementation plans to ensure design elements are delivered eg: role profiles, PD’s, capability requirements
  • Identify people impacts arising from organisation design initiatives with the analysis of relevant business and enterprise workforce plans including focus on risks, talent, diversity, ER, inclusion etc
  • Constructively challenge leaders to achieve optimum commercial outcomes through organisation design initiatives that deliver against known targets and cost imperatives


To be successful in the role, you'll have:

  • A relevant tertiary degree in Human Resource Management , Business Management, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role from within medium to large complex matrixed organisations
  • Proven capabilities in the execution of strategic and operational OD and change, with the ability to move between both strategy and execution
  • Strong facilitation skills to lead analysis and design workshops
  • Prior experience leading and influencing, particularly coaching and developing leaders
  • A flexible, reflective, and adaptable style with the ability to constructively challenge the status quo
