About the role

The Lending Practice has primary responsibility for supporting and transforming the lending capabilities of the Bank. We are modernising the end-to-end lending platform right from the time our customers begin an application through credit assessment to how their documentation is managed, and loans are settled. We are uplifting our systems to speed up the lending process reducing manual work through automation and straight through processing. Our goal is to support operational changes that allow our staff to turn around a loan faster.

The Practice Operations Manager is responsible for the provision of high quality, accurate and timely information including recommendations and the analysis of the performance of the Practice roadmap including, the progress towards achieving business objectives and benefits, recommending investment targets, financial performance, assessment against targets and business specific measures and reviewing forecasts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with senior management across the business and Technology & Transformation Division
  • Obtaining and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the operating environment
  • Reporting of initiative progress to the Enterprise Value Office (EVO) across all initiatives domiciled in the practice
  • Reporting the performance of a practice including reporting effort and cost of BAU, managed services and initiatives domiciled to the practice to the EVO
  • Providing timely, accurate and high-quality portfolio performance analysis and insights including identifying potential risks and issues
  • Supporting Practice Leads and Service Owners to engage the Enterprise Investment Committee (EIC) for stage gate funding decisions
  • Financial management of the practice including forecasting, target setting and supporting the monthly management reporting process for the practice

 

About you

You will have extensive hands-on experience of portfolio management and business performance reporting.

  • Detailed understanding and significant experience of Portfolio Management including:
    • Portfolio Management
    • Program / Project Management
    • Target and forecasting processes
    • Management Reporting
    • Business analytics and data interrogation techniques
  • Self-starter with a drive to instigate initiatives and changes
  • Solution driven with creative and lateral thinking
  • An ability to adapt proactively to customer needs and manage expectations
  • Highly developed negotiation, communication, influencing and relationship development skills across all levels
