Emergent company Advitech is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer. The ideal candidate will be a senior electrical engineer who is comfortable dealing with technical issues and commercial matters. If you are an adaptable engineer with a pragmatic approach, and can deal with complexity without getting bogged down in unnecessary detail - this role may be for you.
Responsibilities

Conducting technical assessments (e.g. design verifications), functional safety assessments (e.g. SIL determination) and facilitating risk workshops (e.g. HAZOP)

Preparing assessment documentation and reports with analytical and technical robustness

Interpreting technical and complex information
-
Coordinating project scopes of works, budgets and schedules

Actively maintaining good relationships with new and existing clients
About You
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer who enjoys facilitating workshops and helping clients to resolve problems.
To be successful, you will possess the following:

Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering

At least 10 years' experience, including consulting

Demonstrated experience in functional safety, technical analysis, auditing or critical analysis of similar nature

Sound commercial judgement
-
Demonstrated high level technical report writing skills
-
Ability to apply complex sets of requirements in a practical manner

Strong communication skills and ability to present well to customers

Effective time management skills
The following additional skills would be advantageous:

Chartered membership of Engineers Australia

TÜV or equivalent qualification in Functional Safety
-
Experience in risk management and/or design
-
Experience in design of control systems, industrial machinery, or electrical control systems
