The Role 

Dubber is expanding and would like a permanent Software Developer to join us to develop and deploy new and existing services into our hybrid-cloud platform. As the Software Developer you will work on a wide range of customer-facing and internal projects using the latest technologies.

What’s your impact?

• Understanding business requirements of projects and converting them into robust deployments in a high-availability environment.
• Working alongside colleagues and customers in building a scalable, resilient and increasingly cloud-native SaaS platform.
• Delivering automated continuous integration / continuous deployment of new products and updates to our production environment alongside the infrastructure, development and service management teams.
• Design and planning with the development team and other stakeholders for product and platform improvement.
• Recommending and thinking outside of the box on updates and design improvements including new technologies and design patterns.
• Liaising with customers during design, integration and testing, mainly remotely, but with the occasional on-site visit.
• Occasional response to incidents, including follow-up review and design to improve the resilience of the service.
• This role will require occasional out-of-hours working as projects and upgrades go live in a customer-facing environment.
• Mentoring and assisting junior members of the teams with new technologies, code reviews and design patterns.

About You

• You will have 4 years’ real-world development experience using an object-oriented programming language, and need excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• You are proficient in modern development patterns and practices including Agile, SRE and DevOps methods. 
• You have a good understanding of public cloud platforms (esp. AWS) and Networking.
• You enjoy learning about cutting edge technology and modern software delivery techniques.
• Education to B.Sc. level in Computer Science or a technical discipline, or education to B.Sc. level in a non-computing discipline with significant demonstrable experience in a technical capacity, or equivalent experience.

Some other skills that would be advantageous but aren't essential include:

• C#, Containers (Docker, etcd, kubernetes etc.), Micro service development, Linux knowledge and hands-on automated deployment and management in AWS or Azure.
• VOIP Telephony experience (SIP, RTP, FreeSWITCH, OpenSIPs, Kamailio, etc.)
• Experience with Configuration Management, Orchestration, and Source Control tooling (e.g.. Chef, Ansible, Git, Bitbucket, Terrafrom, Helm etc).
• Proven track record of automating repetitive operational tasks, other programming languages including scripting and networking technologies (TCP/IP, OSI Model, firewalls, routing, etc.).
• Message buses, especially Rabbit MQ / AMQP.
