Within this Centre of Excellence sit the Group Website and User Experience team who have product ownership of the Group’s website platform. The team ensure online capabilities support business and customer needs, and build organisational maturity in the use of digital channels and new technologies.

We currently have a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity for a User Experience (UX) Designer that has genuine possibility of extension. Reporting into the Digital Product Manager you will deliver campaigns and champion website customer experience across digital touch points. Using insights, business requirements, and user journeys to create innovative user experiences that drive growth.

As a problem solver you’ll design with user and business outcomes in mind and be able to work in an iterative style. Working across our websites for credit cards and everyday banking products to lead the design for online web pages, application platforms, forms, and other assets. Bringing your expertise in UX design principles and methodology to turn insights and ideas into concepts, models, prototypes, storyboards, journey maps, scenarios, and guidelines. Combining your capabilities with Google Analytics, prototyping tools (Invision or equivalent), and knowledge of WCAG to provide best practice end-to-end web design and management.

This role can be based in any of our main office locations: Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, or Bendigo for the days that you are in the office, and then other days you’ll be working from home to help better balance your life and work.

 

As the User Experience (UX) Designer you will:

  • Provide expertise in the delivery of UX activities including requirements gathering, concept design, prototyping and user testing
  • Lead user experience work on strategic and innovation projects across web, ensuring experiences are designed from a user-centred perspective
  • Ensure SEO strategies are implemented
  • Work collaboratively with al key stakeholders including developers, business unit leads and the marketing team
  • Provide thought leadership around new technologies, research, and related developments to identify opportunities for innovation and future enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines

 

To be successful in the role, you'll have:

  • Well-developed UX design skills from previous experience in a UX Design role having worked with large websites with multi-faceted content and users
  • Demonstrated capabilities with prototyping systems using wireframe technology (Invision or similar)
  • Proven experience in improving website and customer experiences to deliver growth
  • A solid understanding of how web works including security, session management, and best development practices including WCAG 2.1, Conversion Rate Optimisation; and Search Engine Optimisation
  • A portfolio of digital design demonstrating understanding and delivery of responsive and adaptive design
  • Demonstrable service design skills through the development of Service design blueprints
  • Demonstrable user journey skills through the development of user journey maps and user flow diagrams
  • A strong understanding of web standards and current trends in HTML/CSS coding and content managements systems (Episerver or similar)
