Team Spend is Canva’s Source to Pay team which is composed of Sourcing & Procurement and  Shared Services - Purchasing, Accounts Payable and Expense & Travel. Team Spend came together to upgrade Canva’s spending experience for both internal and external stakeholders. Our Mission is to empower Canvanauts to focus on their impact by providing the most Efficient and Frictionless Spend Experience. 
About the candidateThe Shared Service Purchasing Lead role is responsible for driving and supporting sourcing and procurement events at Canva. 
We are also looking for someone who resonates with Canva values and has the following personal traits:

What you'll do…

  • Purchasing Enablement:
  • Support and/or lead purchasing requests in accordance with business requirements within aggressive timelines while ensuring the integrity of the process and compliance to policies
  • Daily reporting on each request’s open items (e.g.  Legal review, Security review, Privacy assessment. and ensure service levels are achieved)
  • Maintain accurate records of contract details, and  align with Sourcing Leads on projected start / end dates
  • Validating deals that are successful
  • Point of contact for  on gathering  vendor & market intelligence 
  • Ensure recordkeeping of all requests, including registration of contract & complete vendor on-boarding in the purchasing system. 
  • Purchasing Reporting: pulling in the summary report by Group each quarter together with the purchasing specialists


  • Data Collection & Refinement and Strategy & Planning:
  • Perform detailed analysis of spend, contract terms and must have strong decision-making skills
  • Manage vendor performance issues, SLA reporting, and support the Contract Managers with remedial action
  • Create requests for information and manage data collection from vendors
  • Formulate Vendor selection recommendation (based on an evaluation)
  • Coordinate with functional subject matter experts such as Risk and Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Tax to ensure compliance with the company’s standards from a contractual standpoint

What we’re looking for…

  • A Bachelor’s/College Degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or other related disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience working with overseas/international vendors and contracts
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Procurement/Purchasing
  • Knowledge of Procurement or Finance applications and systems, databases, and reporting tools
  • Participated in system/process change-related activities such as requirements gathering, solution validation, acceptance testing, and user support
