You’ll be part of our School of Tech squad, within the Tech Community Programs tribe, which sits in the Technology & Data group.

The Tech Community Programs tribe is a highly specialised group of individuals, who are the best in their fields, providing a strategic “centre of excellence” guidance across core community-focused programs for everyone in Tech at REA.

As our Tech Learning & Development Specialist you will help guide how our tight-knit Tech L&D team design & deliver learning solutions for the Technology & Data group. Our small-but-mighty team is focused on unlocking the unlimited potential of our tech community, and we manage the "School of Tech" in REA University.

We deliver tech learning through in-house programs, tech onboarding workshops, support for Guilds (Communities of Practice), events and sponsorships, and using external vendor courses. You'll work closely with the Tech L&D Manager, Coordinator, Federated learning community, tech Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and wider REA community.

What the role is all about

  • Be the face of learning design & instruction for the "School of Tech".

  • Participate in daily stand-ups and embrace an Agile way-of-work.

  • Work with our Tech L&D Manager to hypothesize, test and implement learning solutions aligned with REA strategy.

  • Create learning resources that through workshopping requirements with key stakeholders & gathering knowledge from SMEs.

  • Create and edit video learning content – guided or provided by SMEs.

  • Create self-paced online learning, and packaged course content that SMEs can pick up and deliver (with and/or without you!)

  • Guide REA facilitators through delivering your course content.

  • Facilitate tech onboarding classrooms alongside SMEs – grow into owning our Tech Onboarding program.

  • Take a data-driven approach by incorporating measurement into learning interventions from design to delivery, review, and iteration.

  • Continuously evaluate and refine agile learning programs based on success measures.

  • Work with our Tech L&D Coordinator to launch interventions, follow a communication plan for high learning engagement, manage attendance and occasionally assist with team coordination.

Who we’re looking for

  • A Savvy Learning Designer: A knack for crafting impactful content that creates behaviour-based change. From your >3 years’ experience in similar roles you understand adult pedagogy and andragogy and know how to create content that's both engaging and accessible.

  • A Collaborative Communicator: comfortable with interviewing SMEs, liaising with stakeholders, chasing up roadblocks, and actively seeking feedback.

  • A Facilitator with Instructional Design in Mind: Interested in delivering live classrooms, both in-person and via Zoom. Able to help REA facilitators learn how to become engaging facilitators alongside you.

  • A Data-Driven Innovator: Understand the importance of integrating data into every phase of design and delivery, enabling smooth reporting and continuous improvement.

  • An Agile Mindset: Open to learning Agile project management principles to deliver iterative learning programs that improve over time.

  • A Digital Advocate: At ease with picking up new learning technologies to create online learning content for REA University and deliver live experiences on Zoom. Interested in learning how to automate and make the most of Slack.

  • A Lifelong Learner: Passionate about continuous self-improvement and learning what you need to build a career in tech learning & development. We're eager to hear about your favourite Tech/L&D resources - be they courses, learning academies, books, blogs, podcasts, or beyond.

  • A True Learning Devotee: While a Degree or Certification(s) in Education, Instructional Design, Learning Design or a related field is desired, we're open to any experience that makes you a good fit. We value passion and potential just as much as formal qualifications.

  • A passion for tech (whether from your own hobbies/side projects, study or hands on experience) is highly desirable.
