Job Description

Babcock New Zealand is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our Logistics Team here on the Devonport Naval Base on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

 

About the role

 

Are you a motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for efficient logistics?

 

We are looking for a dedicated team player to join our New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) logistics team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that repair and refurbish items are managed efficiently.

 

Your responsibilities will include assessing repair potential, coordinating with support engineers and maintenance leads, and ensuring the timely delivery of items to various stakeholders. Your ability to work under pressure, attention to detail, and computer literacy will be key assets in this position.

 

Join us in contributing to the smooth operation of the NZDF's logistics and warehouse systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Assess the potential for repair and refurbishment of items.
  • Collaborate with Support Engineers and Maintenance Leads to create purchase orders and request quotes for repair services.
  • Coordinate the dispatch of items to relevant repair or refurbishment agents, whether internal or external.
  • Report and escalate any service performance issues to Support Engineers or Maintenance Leads.
  • Manage the return process of stock items, including liaising with stakeholders on expected return times.

 

Key Required Skills

 

  • Relevant experience in warehousing and logistics.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related role preferred
  • A current clean driver's license, ideally with an F Endorsement.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a valuable team member.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in working well under pressure.
  • Strong computer literacy with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems, preferably IFS and SAP will be highly regarded
