As our Garment Technician at Bunzl Safety and Lifting, you will be entrusted with ensuring that our workwear products align with the highest standards and meet Australian industry requirements.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Fitting garments and generating detailed specifications, measurements, grades, and tech packs.
  • Preparing technical packs using Illustrator for offshore production.
  • Conducting precise measurements of garments to create size specifications and grades.
  • Setting up and managing new styles, keeping track of the development stages in line with the critical path.
  • Documenting style progress, noting alterations, and providing clear feedback.
  • Overseeing the development process with offshore suppliers, which includes approving lab dips, examining test reports, and ensuring timely communication.
  • Holding fitting sessions with clients and liaising with suppliers about alterations and feedback.
  • Effectively communicating to resolve any arising issues in the development and production process.
  • Reviewing and giving the final QC sign-off on samples.



To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Proficiency in Illustrator, especially for constructing spec packs.
  • An adept understanding of Excel.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Australian standards in garment technology.
  • A strong background in technical spec creation or patternmaking.
  • In-depth understanding of both woven and knit fabrics, tailoring techniques, and commercial finishes.
  • Sharp attention to detail in garment construction, specifications, and ensuring accuracy.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively – both in writing and verbally – particularly when liaising with offshore suppliers.
  • An innate drive to ensure product quality is uncompromised and aligns with our high standards.
