Job Description

Babcock New Zealand is looking for a Calibration Technician to join the Devonport based team.

Role Benefits

 

  • $44 to $55 per hour – experience and qualification dependent
  • Full time – 40 hours per week
  • Additional allowances based on qualifications

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Calibration and Repair: Carry out calibration and repair activities on test equipment, identifying and rectifying faults as necessary.
  • Maintenance and Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance, repair, and calibration of equipment is completed on schedule, meeting customer specifications and complying with requirements.
  • Diverse Equipment: Calibrate and repair a wide range of general-purpose and highly specialised test equipment and test sets, highlighting any failures or delays to turnaround.
  • Test Procedure Development: Develop and review test procedures when required to enhance the calibration process.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate within a team to achieve delivery of unit outputs, communicate effectively with end users and customers, and maintain good business relations.

 

Key Skills & Competencies

 

  • Fault Finding: Proficient in identifying and resolving faults in test equipment.
  • Technical Reporting: Capable of generating technical reports with recommendations for calibration and repair activities.
  • Precision Equipment: Skilled in the use of a wide range of precision Test and Measurement Equipment.

 

Highly desirable but not essential

 

  • Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) Software: Development of computer-controlled Automatic Test Equipment software within Excel or other calibration software packages, such as MetCal.
  • Previous work at an ISO 17025 compliant laboratory: As an approved signatory or KTP.
