What the role is all about

We’re currently on the hunt for a skilled Application Support Engineer to join our Financial Services team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and interest in the financial markets. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and reliable applications and infrastructure. We are seeking a candidate to support and maintain our current Data Centre application footprint whilst contributing and managing our transition to AWS cloud. 

• Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple distributed software applications 
• Take a holistic view of production system health, covering key components of applications, infrastructure, and related AWS and GCP services 
• Manage operational aspects of our existing product suites in a complex environment undergoing technological transformation, security and compliance management, high availability design and disaster recovery planning. 
• Develop, configure, and maintain automation tools and CI/CD process using Powershell, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy 
• Experience supporting C# and Javascript 
• Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement across infrastructure and application stack using New Relic, Redgate Monitoring, Logic Monitor and Splunk 
• Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple distributed software applications including Microsoft SQL Server and dotnet applications hosted on Windows IIS. 
• Design, implement and document highly available and reliable systems and infrastructure using Nutanix, Windows Hyper-V, Google Cloud Platform, AWS and other technologies 
• Monitor the security of the production environment by working closely with REA security teams 
• Supporting after hours deployment and monitoring as part of an on-call roster. 

Who we’re looking for

• Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker and Windows Containers 
• Configuration tools such as Puppet, Ansible and Terraform 
• Implement and manage identity and access management solutions using Ping Identity 
• Supporting Microsoft Dynamics CRM and IBM WebSphere applications 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to migrate applications to AWS cloud environments 
• Experience with networking and administering Windows Active Directory.
